Sattu Paratha is a delicious and protein packed dish found in the state of Bihar,Uttar pradesh and its neighboring areas. Sattu Paratha  is a healthy, delicious ,wholesome  breakfast which can be served with  Baigan ka chokha, plain yogurt , pickle or just with a hot cup of tea.

Sattu Paratha  is made with whole wheat flour and a  stuffing that has roasted gram flour which is known as sattu in so many parts of India. Sattu is very rich in mineral, protein,fiber so also good for diabetic and heart patients.

Ingredients:

For the Dough

  • 1 cup Whole Wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp ajwain
  • Salt to taste
  • Water to knead the dough

For The Filling

  • 1/2 cup Sattu flour
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1 Green chili finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp Coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp mustard oil
  • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  1. Mix ajwain seed to wheat flour ,add water and knead a soft dough.
  2. In a bowl add sattu, chopped onion,chopped green chili ,lemon juice, salt and mustard oil.The mixture should not be completely dry to be used as a stuffing. 
  3. Divide the dough into 4 equal sized ball. Stuff each ball with generous amount of prepared sattu filling. Seal it with wet fingers.
  4. Roll each ball into circular Paratha. Heat a tawa and cook the paratha on both side till they are done.
  5. Serve hot.
