Paneer Makhni is the aromatic dish from the lap of Punjab, otherwise known as Butter Paneer , this dish which uses the most loved ingredient of the Punjabi people-BUTTER. Paneer Makhni literally means cottage cheese in a buttery sauce. Paneer means “cottage cheese” and makhni means “gravy made of butter ”. This dish can brighten the simplest of the menu with it’s authentic punjabi flavor.
The Makhani Gravy is usually made up of pureed tomatoes, ginger, garlic, red chili powder and cream. Soft paneer chunks are added to the rich tomato based gravy. Paneer makhani gets a little bit of tangy taste from tomatoes and there are whole spices and garam masala in it .

Some recipes are made with onion and some are without onion, some with yogurt base or some with cashew or cream base. Most of the recipes use the same method but different spices combination.
