  1. Oats:  overnight oats are made with plain old-fashioned rolled oats because instant or quick-cooking oats, will turn it into complete mush. You can also use gluten-free oats.
  2. Milk: You can use any milk like almond milk, coconut milk , cashew milk, cow milk etc.  
  3. Chia Seeds (optional):  are a great source of antioxidants, fiber, and omega-3’s, and give overnight oats that thick pudding-like texture but you can skip if you donot like them.
  4. Greek yogurt :  gives the oats a tangy flavor, creamy texture and additional boost of protein.
  5. Sweetener: Use honey/maple syrup/ jaggery to sweeten the mixture, because oats are bland in taste.
  6. Toppings:  is where you can play around with whatever you have in your kitchen . It could be fresh fruit, dried fruit, nut butters, nuts, seeds and spices like cinnamon, nutmeg or cardamom.

The basic Overnight oats recipe calls for a ratio of 1 part oats to 2 parts of liquid.
